Research and Consultancy
We conduct various research projects, such as value chain mapping, human rights impact assessments, baseline studies, and farmer surveys, using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
Baseline and Human Rights Impact Studies
Akina Consulting completed the McCormick Women Empowerment Baseline Study (survey and indicators prepared by CORE Int.) in the oregano supply chain covering over 200 women farmers in Denizli and UÅŸak in 2020.
Akina Consulting acted as the lead local partner for; Twenty Fifty Ltd. in conducting field visits for human rights impact assessment in the tobacco supply chain. With a team of eight consultants, Twenty Fifty Ltd. covered over 300 engagements in Izmir, Samsun, and Adiyaman Region. Conducted a needs assessment study for the Rose supply chain in Isparta covering over 800 farmers. The sample size and assessment tools were created by Akina. Living income study for the Tobacco supply chain in the Aegean Region (300 farmers- 60 households)
Fair Labour Association in conducting the UNICEF Baseline Assessment for Combating Child Labour in the Garment and Textile Sector in Turkey and conducted a focused assessment of the hazelnut supply chain.
Monitoring and Impact Evaluation
